Traditional proposals are overrated depending on who’s proposing and who’s being proposed to. Why not think outside the box?
This past Christmas my mom came up with an idea for a Grinch themed proposal and yes it is as fun as it sounds! Christmas proposals are common, but The Grinch is a whole vibe within itself.

Although we planned this in the middle of December, my mom managed to find matching Grinch sweatshirts at Cracker Barrel for my husband and I. We decided we would act out being the future bride and groom to bring her idea to life.
My mom came up with a lot of cool ideas for decor and gifts, however we had the advantage of utilizing our yearly Christmas decorations to make things more festive. What’s so great about a Grinch themed proposal is that it allows you to use what you already have whether it’s Christmas or not. You can take your tree ornaments and decor out in June if you wanted to because The Grinch is a classic that everyone loves all year-round.
We bought the Grinch stuffed animal from Walgreens in addition to the candies and hot cocoa balls. My mom bought the cute red and green cups from Dollar Tree as well as the battery operated candles. The Grinch themed water bottle came from Target along with the plates, napkins, and Christmas hats.

In future years we hope to play around more with this concept. There’s so many possibilities with a theme like the Grinch. There’s costumes, party sets, a variety of Grinch themed apparel and so much more to tap into, so this won’t be our last post.

What I enjoyed most about this mock project is the little added touches we did. For example, my mom added wedding ring ornaments on the Christmas tree. Also, my 10 year old little cousin volunteered to be The Grinch, which was really cute.
